Reconciliation of PV array and SEIG set based EV charging for remote areas

This paper pioneering on hybrid renewable energy based Charging Station (CS) to provide efficient charging for electric vehicle, with additional features of being environment friendly and cost effective. The charging station consists of solar PV array, Self Excited Induction Generator (SEIG), grid, battery, along with critical load. When the charging station is connected to the grid due to weather condition the converter works in current control mode, while when grid is connected to the charging station its works in voltage control mode. Further bidirectional controller is connected in parallel to DC link which work as buck as well as boost converter. The proposed charging station not only charged the vehicle by also support the load, thus serve the dual purpose for remote areas. Transition mode is simulated by using the information of voltage, phase and frequency. The synchronization enables the smooth change of utility to islanded mode and re3ynchronization without experience of spikes across the load, thus protect the dedicated loads. of The proposed controller is simulated in MATLAB environment.
