The Sliding-Mode Observer for PMSM Sensorless Control with Adaptive Complex-Coefficient Filter and PLL

The paper embraces PMSM inverter-fed sensorless drive based on sliding-mode observer in α, β state coordinates with adaptive band-pass filter in complex domain (CCF) and phase locked loop (PLL) in which algorithm for self-tuning the system parameters in frequency domain adaptively tracks the actual rotor speed changes. The viability and effectiveness of the proposed PMSM sensorless field-oriented control system has been verified by MATLAB/Simulink platform. The proposed adaptive CCF and PLL technique allows to provide the effective chattering suppression, robustness, desired estimation error of rotor position angle with fast convergence rate and can be adopted in the high-performance sensorless PMSM drives.
