Deterministic Terahertz Imaging Through Scattering Media

Controlling wave propagation in scattering materials is a modern challenge in photonics and other wave domains. Volume scattering operates as a complex space-time convolution element, often resulting in a significant impediment to information transfer. However, from a purely transmission-function point of view, scattering operates as a field-level combinatory process. As a result, gaining experimental access to instantaneous scattered fields would be a key advantage in its functionalization. In the photonics domain, this capacity is peculiarly developed in the terahertz frequency range, where time-domain spectroscopy is a very established methodology to access fields in ultrafast transients [1].
