Dynamic Performance Analysis of The Variable Speed Ratio Magnetic Gear

This paper investigates the dynamic characteristics of a variable speed ratio magnetic gear (VSRMG) by using a dynamic performance analysis method, which is based on the torque look-up table model of the VSRMG obtained by finite element analysis (FEA). The dynamic characteristics under different conditions such as start-up, the abrupt load changes and speed regulated are studied. It is found that the VSRMG exhibits speed oscillations on the loaded rotor during star-up, speed regulated and under load disturbances, but it stabilizes quickly under the influence of system damping. The experimental results verify the reliability of this dynamic performance analysis method.
