Investigation of the Excess Loss of the Grain-Oriented Steel Sheets in A High-Frequency Range Considering Skin Effect

This paper discusses the relationship between the excess loss statistical parameter V

and the magnetization frequency f, which is beneficial to accurately predict the loss of electrical steel sheets in a wide frequency range. To clarify the effect of magnetization frequency on excess loss, the hysteresis loss and classical eddy current loss considering the skin effect is firstly determined via a time domain One-dimensional(1-D) lamination model where the constitutive hysteresis relation is described by an improved inverse J-A model with waveform scale factors. are calculated by subtracting the hysteresis loss and the classical eddy current loss obtained from the solution of the 1-D diffusion equation. Finally, a discussion about the frequency dependence on the statistical parameter V

is carried out by measuring the loss of grain-oriented(GO) silicon steel B30P105 up to 1 kHz and 1.6 T. Obtained results show that statistical parameter V

can be regarded as a function of magnetization frequency and magnetic flux density level.
