Effect of Helical Anisotropy on Magnetic Losses in Stacked Cores of Grain-Oriented and Non-Oriented Steels

Magnetic loss decomposition, going beyond the conventional power frequencies, and first-order reversal curve approach have been combined to assess the anisotropy of magnetization process inside the shifted ring stacks, made either of grain-oriented or non-oriented Fe–Si steel, endowed with helical distribution of easy magnetization axes. By applying the Statistical Theory of Losses, the loss contributions are analyzed as the functions of shift angle from DC to 2 kHz at peak inductions up to 1.5 T. The angle-dependent behavior of field-resolved domain wall processes is revealed in the micromagnetic maps of pinning and interaction fields.
