Fuzzy Inferenced Impedance Matching for the SIMO-WPT Scheme

The major drawback in battery-charging in wireless power transmission (WPT) system is that the power transfer efficiency (PTE) drastically decreases with the transfer distance and is susceptible to the variation in loads when a WPT is accomplished via coupled magnetic resonance. Most research focuses on developing an automatic impedance-matching system featuring an integrated intelligent algorithm. Despite the limitations of traditional algorithms, this study introduces a novel solution to the problem of slow impedance matching. Specifically, the research proposes a single-input multiple-output (SIMO) wireless power transfer (WPT) scheme that utilizes an adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solution, our research focuses on a minimal setup of a two-receiver WPT. In addition to analyzing the design of the WPT system and coils placement, the coil misalignment problem is considered. The prototype complies with SAE TIR J2954 specifications in the operating frequency. The primitive experimental result verifies soundness of the proposed method.
