API for data transfer using USB to CAN converter

The paper describes the nowadays ignored challenge in the field of motor control, robotics, and mechatronic applications., which is communication between peripheries and master system. The general aim of the article is to abet the implementation of the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus to peripheries and actuators in the mentioned field of research. This effort can be positive for the increase of the number of implementation motors with encapsulated regulation loop, which are controlled from the master system via CAN bus or acquiring data from different peripheries. The article offers a comparison of available converters for communication with devices via CAN bus with the master system. The comparison provides an overview of lite versions of the converters with a detailed description of aid software. The main challenge was developing a suitable library written in C++ language with QT framework extension. This paper also deals with a detailed description of source code developed by us with an example solution in the form of Graphical User Interface (GUI). The Application Programming Interface (API) offers the interface between the USB2CAN converter of CANLAB company and the user-developed source code.
