Optimal Fuzzy-PI PMSM Speed Control Using Evolutionary DE Algorithm Implemented on DSP Controller

This paper proposes an advanced optimal Fuzzy PI algorithm to ameliorate the effectiveness of PMSM velocity control and minimize the computation burden in the digital signal processing (DSP) controller experimentally embedded. Compared with the conventional FOC-PI and the Fuzzy PI control techniques, the response time regarding the PMSM referential speed and the load torque variations are significantly reduced. Furthermore, both the amplitude of PMSM speed fluctuations and the PMSM stator current ripple are minimally optimized using the DE optimization algorithm. The experimental results show that the PMSM speed control method using the optimal Fuzzy PI algorithm ensures practicality, stability, robustness, and high quality.
