Development of a New Gate Driver with Capacitive Isolation

This article is about development of a new driver for power switches controlling. The driver has capacitive galvanic isolation unit as the most promising in the current conditions. Driver control is organized using two separate information channels for turning on and off. The article explains purpose and functionality of drivers. In the article classification of drivers with different types of galvanic isolation is given. The relevance of scientific research on the development of principles for constructing drivers of various types is substantiated. Block diagram for driver with galvanic isolation has been developed and a circuit diagram has been made on its basis. Driver multilayer breadboard made and tested with single power switches and phase leg. Special attention during the development was paid to the problem of noise immunity. This problem is very relevant in the development of any control devices. A competent solution to this problem ensures the success of the entire development.
