Model Designing of the Weft Thread Projectile Accelerator for Weaving Loom with Crank Mechanism

currently, weft selection and selvedge control systems available on the weaving machine do not support precise control of weft and selvedge selection devices, which reduces the dynamic performance and production efficiency of the weaving machine. The closest to the proposed prototype is a rapier mechanism of a weaving machine containing at least one rapier and a rapier drive including a sprocket fixed to the bantam bar which is engaged in the rapier perforations and is connected to the drive element by a reducer. On the basis of this, a 3D model of accelerator, including a crank mechanism, the principle of which was taken from the internal combustion engine, where the piston, under the action of gas pressure, performs translational motion towards the crankshaft. With the help of the kinematic piston-crank and crank-rod couples, the translational motion of the piston is converted into the rotational motion of the crankshaft. In addition, calculations of velocity and dependence of the connecting rod angle of rotation have been performed. The displacement, velocity, and acceleration dependences on time were plotted.
