Application of Thermodilution for the Development of Hydrodynamic Stands Simulating Cardiac Activity

The paper describes the use of thermodilution for the development of stands simulating cardiac activity. The work presents statistics of terminal stage morbidity of chronic heart failure (CHF) in Russia and in the world, as well as data on transplantation of donor heart, which is now «gold standard». However, the lack of donor organs severely limits the rapid increase in the number of patients. Due to the existing shortage of donor organs, the development of auxiliary circulatory systems - devices that support or replace the function of the heart in patients with heart failure - is a topical area. In order for auxiliary circulatory systems to be safe and effective for patients, they must be thoroughly tested. For this purpose special stands are used for testing auxiliary circulatory systems. The auxiliary circulatory system test stand is a device that simulates the operation of the human cardiovascular system under various conditions. The stand allows you to check the characteristics of the blood pump (performance, pressure, energy consumption), as well as to evaluate its impact on hemodynamics and hemolysis. The described in-service hardware platform for fluid flow measurement will allow to develop a bench system for testing auxiliary circulatory devices.
