Near Field - Far Field Transformation with Pre-Correction Probe Technique

In the article, the Near-Field to Far-Field (NF-FF) transformation problem is solved using the Source Reconstruction Method (SRM). The theoretical foundations of the method are considered. In particular, the main stages of a linear algebraic equations system obtaining are described, and a method for the numerical solution of the system based on the geometric interpretation of the equation is presented. Particular attention is paid to the technical aspects of measurements, namely, the influence of the measuring probe on the antenna under study near field preliminary correction procedure based on the plane waves theory and modern electromagnetics simulation systems is proposed to exclude the systematic error generated by a measuring probe. The necessity and effectiveness of preliminary correction of the SRM were demonstrated on a test model, and also confirmed by experiments with real existed antennas. Qualitative and quantitative indicators of the effectiveness of the correction procedure are considered both from the point of view of restoring the unperturbed near-field and reconstructing the far-field of the antenna.
