5G NR UE Structure between PHY and RU for Real-Time Operation

In 5G New Radio (NR) new different numerologies appeared, in contrast to 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE), which had only one - numerology 0 with a subcarrier spacing of 15 KHz. The increase in numerology means that the number of slots in the subframe is increased by increasing the slot in the frequency domain. This results in shorter transmission intervals (TTIs) in the time domain. With an increase in the number of slots in a subframe, the number of symbols remains the same, and the software that processes these slots must work several times faster in order to keep up in real time and be ready for next slot. This problem applies to both the Base Station (gNB) and the 5G User Equipment. Slot processing on both UE and gNB is a task that is solved in real-time and is critical to any delays. This article attempts to describe one of the possible implementations of 5G UE for stable operation without delays between RU and PHY.
