ICT and Mental Health of Professionals Working from Home

The article discusses current trends in the labor market, in particular the peculiarities of working from home by specialists of different professional orientation. The authors distinguish the main directions and types of remote work, note its advantages and attractiveness for both specialists and employers. Along with the advantages we can talk about the disadvantages of such work organization: the negative impact on the physical and psychological health of people, the lack of direct contact (communication) with colleagues, superiors, clients, inefficient self-organization. At the same time, more emphasis is placed on the need to maintain psychological well-being and health, because good mental health allows people not only to express themselves in professional activities, to achieve their goals, to develop, but also to live a full life, building healthy relationships with others, being in harmony with their inner world. The authors of the article cite the results of a study that shows that professionals who work from home, face with long working hours and overload. At the same time, they are less positive about their psychological state compared with the physical one. The vast majority of workers are familiar with applications and devices to maintain physical and psychological health, but still not many uses them in their lives, while not always noticing positive changes. From this we can conclude that it is necessary to prevent the negative impact of working from home on the condition of professionals, which may not be limited to the use of modern applications and devices.
