Electro-optical terahertz imaging using a polarization image sensor

We report a novel terahertz imaging technique based on two-dimensional electro-optical sampling. A polarization image sensor is used to measure the spatially resolved polarization modulation of a probe beam. The temporal and spatial distribution of the terahertz electric field allow to obtain hyperspectral terahertz images in a simple and efficient way.
