An Electromagnetic Rectifying Surface with Flexible DC Output Connection Structure for Wireless Power Transfer

This paper proposed an efficient electromagnetic rectifying surface array at 5.8 GHz. This rectifying surface can achieve impedance matching with free space by optimizing its geometry. Consequently, this rectifying surface can achieve efficient capture of ambient electromagnetic energy. Diodes can achieve the rectification and synthesis of the captured energy. In this work, diodes is directly connect to the energy-capturing surface which can reduce the insertion loss and complexity of this rectifying surface. It is worth noting that diodes are behind the substrate which can avoid the interference of incident energy on energy rectifying. The output voltage of this rectifying surface can be controlled by changing the synthesis mode of DC energy. The simulation results shows that this rectifying surface has the energy capturing efficiency of 99.7

and energy conversion efficiency of 79.8%.
