Weak Nonlinear Behavioral Model Extraction Based on Vector Network Analyzer

For the radio frequency and microwave receiver, it mostly works in the linear region or weak nonlinear region. Since multiple filters are used in the chain, only the fundamental characteristics of the chain should be considered. So a vector network analyzer (VNA) is usually used to test the receiver front-end. However, the obtained S-parameters cannot characterize the nonlinear effects of the receiver. In this paper, a VNA will be used to test the power-dependent S-parameters, and after data processing, the S2D nonlinear behavioral model will be extracted. Using the S2D model, the weak nonlinear effects of the receiver front-end can be characterized cheaply and efficiently.
