An Improved Robin Transmission Condition for Non-overlapping Domain Decomposition Method

An improved Robin transmission condition for non-overlapping domain decomposition method (IRTC-DDM) is proposed. The solution of subdomain problems converges very slowly to the solution of the original global problem by using traditional iterative method, when the medium properties on both sides of the subdomain interface are different. In order to accelerate the convergence, a new iterative strategy is applied. For closed domain transmission structures such as waveguides, numerical examples demonstrate that the results obtained by the proposed approach are in good agreement with the original solution. Compared with the traditional iterative method, the proposed approach has a faster convergence rate of 32.4%.
