High-Resolution Characteristics of Near-field Coherent Sensing for Cardiac Monitoring

The near-field coherent sensing (NCS) method can couple significant electromagnetic energy to the sensing area and detect weak scattering signals inside the human body. To explore the detecting resolution, the CST simulation is implemented to calculate the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) along with the distance between the target and interference source. Moreover, according to the simulation results, heartbeat extraction experiments are carried out. The results show that two points with a distance of 6.5 cm at 1 GHz can be clearly distinguished.
