Advances in Human Target Sensing with Wireless Signals

This paper reviews advances in contact-free human sensing using wireless signals. We first overview our recent achievements from two perspectives: radar-based human activity recognition and WiFi-based activity parameter estimation, aiming to solve the difficulties and promote the development of the wireless human sensing technique. Based on this, we further present the technical challenges in wireless human sensing and envision the metasurface-assisted sensing scheme, facilitating a transition of wireless human sensing techniques into real-world applications.
