Design and Analysis of Wearable Monopole Antenna Sensor

This paper presents the design of a wearable monopole antenna-sensor to operate in the ultra-wide-band frequency range of 3.1-10.6 GHz. The proposed antenna is designed and analysed in proximity of breast equivalent multi-layered phantom. The proposed antenna is easily conformable on the breast phantom due to usage of flexible material Silicon rubber of dielectric constant 4 and loss tangent 0.358. The footprint of the proposed geometry is
$11.25\ \text{mm} \times 13.78\ \text{mm}^{2}$
. The performance of the antenna has been determined at different distance from the phantom and in different bending radius. The antenna offers the specific absorption rate (SAR) of 0.795 W/kg at 5.5 GHz and 1.59 W/kg at 9.5 GHz with input power of 50 mW per 1 gm mass of the tissues.
