Propagation Losses Algorithm for Indoor Wireless Sensor Network

The article presents results of studies on the analysis of radio waves propagation indoors compared to propagation in an unobstructed environment outdoors. During the experiment, a correction factor was defined to calculate the reliability of a network. The article describes a problem of radio waves propagation in buildings, considering the presence of walls and partitions of a building. These obstacles create a heterogeneous environment for propagation of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency radio waves. The results of radio waves propagation in such conditions significantly differ from the results of radio waves propagation in an open environment. The article studies and analyzes the influence of radio waves propagation conditions on wireless networks with antennas installed at low altitude and various types of environmental conditions. It also shows experimental assessment of the influence of an inhomogeneous environment factor indoors on additional signal attenuation for frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
