VN-IDS: An Integrated Virtual Node Protection in Cloud Environment using Intrusion Detection Systems

Cloud computing is vital area for information storage, application deployment, and resources sharing through public cloud or private cloud. Cloud virtual resources such as Virtual Nodes (VN), software applications, virtual memory, physical storage, virtual server can enter into down state due to malicious flood. In this works malicious virtual node detection are implemented for synthetic dataset using machine learning techniques. Proposed systems algorithm has been evaluated using NSL KDD dataset. In this work VN on cloud environment are protected against malicious floods using unsupervised and supervised techniques. Proposed system has the accuracy of 93.7% for synthetic dataset and 94% for NSL KDD Dataset. Proposed system have less time for implementing mitigation service against malicious attacks, compare to SVM and C4.5 and it also reduces the services unavailable time.
