A Method for Reducing PAPR of OTFS Radar Communication Integrated Signal

Due to Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) technology, which can support reliable information transmission in strong Doppler environments, the integration of radar and communication system based on OTFS is gradually emerging. But OTFS integrated signal has high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR), which degrades the performance of the system heavily. In this paper, the PAPR characteristics of OTFS signals are firstly deduced and evaluated, then a hybrid PAPR reduction algorithm is proposed. It is based on Zadoff-Chu Matrix Transform (ZCMT) and Partial Transmit Sequences (PTS) for reducing P APR. Firstly, an orthogonal precoding matrix is constructed using the Zadoff-Chu sequence, then the data symbols are multiplied by the precoding matrix, and then OTFS signal is divided using the conventional PTS procedure. Finally, the optimal phase rotation factor is selected to reduce the autocorrelation of each sub-data block of the OTFS integrated signal, thus a low P APR OTFS integrated signal is obtained. The simulation results show that the algorithm achieves better P APR suppression performance.
