Sleep Quality Monitoring IoT-Based Healthcare System

In today's fast-paced society, many people experience sleep disorders and sleep deprivation, seriously adversely affecting their physical and mental health. Studies have indicated that light impacts circadian rhythm regulation, which in turn affects sleep quality. In this study, we develop an IoT-based healthcare system for sleep quality monitoring. The proposed system uses low-cost sensors and IoT devices, including a DHT-11 temperature and humidity sensor and a TCS34725 color sensor connected to an Arduino UNO and WeMos D1 mini. We deploy Neurosky's TGAM chip to monitor subjects' electroencephalography (EEG) signals for their attention level and meditation status. In the proposed system, we develop a website to display sensor data and observe the relationships between sleep quality and the sleep environment using employed MQTT and Node-Red. We test the proposed system and website over a Raspberry Pi device. The system functions normally and effectively over the Pi device.
