Optimal Design of Doubly-Fed Linear Motor for High Speed Maglev Train Based on Improved Genetic Algorithm

High-speed maglev trains have stringent requirements for the electromagnetic force characteristics of linear motor, including suspension force and its pulsation, and thrust force and its pulsation. The consistency of the electromagnetic performance between the finite element analysis (FEA) model and the physical model is verified by the experiment data. In order to improve the electromagnetic properties of a double-fed linear motor (DFLM), an improved genetic algorithm (GA) based on the Kriging model is proposed to optimize the parameters of the semi-closed groove structure of the mover. By contrasting the FEA results of various optimization design methods, the effectiveness of the improved GA is demonstrated. Finally, a design scheme for a DFLM based on the improved GA is obtained, whose electromagnetic properties surpass the long-stator linear synchronous motor used in TR08.
