A Real-time Detection Technology for High-precision Installation of LNG Carriers' Insulation panels

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is tremendously valued in the energy industry due to its inexpensiveness, eco-friendliness, and cleanliness. LNG carriers are vital for LNG transportation. A key means of installing insulation panels in the construction containment system of LNG carriers is real-time detection technology for high-precision installation of insulation panels. The precision of installation has a direct impact on the stability of the LNG carrier's containment system. To achieve high-precision installation of insulation panels, this paper describes some advantages of real-time detection technology for high-precision installation of insulation panels and its role in the construction of the containment system of LNG carriers in three stages: pre-installation, preparation for installation, and installation. The purpose of this paper is to propose a real-time detection technology for the LNG carrier containment system, thereby breaking through the previous installation bottleneck. A comprehensive solution is proposed by performing real-time detection of the installation. Ultimately, the installation of high-precision insulation panels was eventually completed, contributing to the increased stability of LNG carriers transporting LNG.
