Analysis of 3-D Air-Gap Flux Density on Improved Double-Sided Linear Synchronous Motor

The accurate analysis and calculation of the 3-D air-gap flux density on double-sided (DS) linear synchronous motor (LSM) is very important. It provides reference for evaluating the pulsation content of 3-D electromagnetic force and stability of LSM. At the same time, it can also offer further support for the design and optimization in terms of reducing harmonic loss and electromagnetic vibration. Based on the novel magnetomotive force (MMF) analytical model, the 3-D flux density on improved DS-LSM is analyzed and calculated. First, the 3-D structure and flux density characteristics are investigated. Second, the 3-D flux density analytical expressions are derived by novel MMF model. Finally, the 3-D flux density waveform and variation rule under various secondary operating conditions are obtained through the analytical calculation (AC) model and finite element model.
