Magnetotelluric Three-Dimensional Forward Using Meshfree Radial Point Interpolation Method

Element-free Galerkin method is one of the high precision meshfree method which widely used in the field of numerical calculation, its shape function is fitted by moving least square method, so the boundary conditions can not be loaded accurately. In this paper, we adopted another meshfree method called radial point interpolation method(RPIM) to the magnetotelluric three-dimensional forward modeling and constructed the meshfree shape function through radial basis function and point interpolation approximation, the boundary conditions of RPIM can be loaded directly. Then we derived the expression of meshfree system matrix corresponding to the three-dimensional magnetotelluric variational problem. Finally, the correctness of the RPIM algorithm is verified by the numerical calculation of the layered medium model and the three-dimensional high resistance model.
