Enhancing Sustainability through a Dual-Axis Solar Tracker for Solar-Powered Street Lighting

The central focus of this research is to promote sustainable technology by introducing a dual-axis solar tracker. The primary goal is to enhance the efficiency of solar panels by maximizing their exposure to sunlight. To achieve this, a miniature solar-powered street light with an integrated dual-axis solar tracker is proposed. This research work encompasses two distinct subsystems: The Dual-axis solar tracker and the solar powered street light system. The dual-axis solar tracker employs a light-dependent resistor (LDR) and an Arduino for computational power to control the motor's movement. On the other hand, the solar street light system relies on a TP-4056 Li-ion charging module to maintain a safe charging voltage for the battery. By utilizing solar energy, the system aims to reduce dependence on conventional grid-based energy sources. Additionally, the streetlight system employs energy-efficient LED bulbs, which not only consume less energy but also generate minimal heat dissipation, further contributing to sustainable practices.
