Modeling and Analysis of Aluminum Cable Joints in Transient for New Energy Stations

According to the application conditions of the thermal circuit model in the steady state, it is only suitable for the calculation of the temperature of the core when the cable temperature reaches equilibrium, and cannot be used for the calculation of the temperature in transient after the insulation failure of cable. At the same time, the temperature of the core is the most direct and effective physical quantity that reflects the operating state of the cable joint, so the modeling and analysis of the aluminum cable joint in transient, the study of its internal temperature change mechanism and influencing factors in transient, is to improve the process and installation level of the aluminum cable joint, and develop the basis of the corresponding temperature monitoring system. In this paper, the thermal circuit conduction mechanism of aluminum cable joints in transient operation is analyzed by using the theory of microelement heat transfer. Then, thermal circuit model of aluminum cable joints in transient based on the theory of microelement heat transfer and a method of parameter calculation are proposed. Finally, by building an experimental platform, the method proposed in this paper is experimentally verified.
