Emergency Vehicle Road Congestion Evacuation System Based on the Internet of Vehicles

In order to address the problem of road congestion, the current 5G Internet of Vehicles has made significant strides by utilizing V2V, V2D and other technologies to adjust traffic lights based on the real-time state of the road. However, the increasing prevalence of new energy vehicles has made road congestion a persistent issue, posing major obstacles to emergency missions of first responders. To this end, this paper focuses on road congestion scenarios encountered by emergency vehicles during their missions. By incorporating traffic police into the current 5G Internet of Vehicles, this study utilizes road information to model and evaluate road congestion, constructs the TPI model to build the road congestion index, and employs a shortest-path strategy to avoid congestion as much as possible for navigation. Additionally, the study dispatches the nearest available idle traffic police to ease evacuation, and establishes a model for real-time dispatching of traffic police. Ultimately, different emergency vehicle dispatch scenarios are considered, and measures are taken to address road congestion and evacuate the road ahead of the emergency vehicle in a timely manner to ensure the completion of the emergency task, improve the efficiency of emergency response, and minimize casualties resulting from untimely dispatching.
