An Improved Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding Based on Matrix Decomposition for Faster-than-Nyquist Signaling

In this paper, an improved Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding (THP) scheme based on matrix decomposition for faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling is proposed. Compared to the conventional THP scheme for FTN signaling, the proposed LDU-THP scheme for FTN signaling can improve error performance. When the roll factor of root raised cosine (RRC) pulse is 0.3, compared to the conventional THP scheme for FTN signaling, the proposed LDU-THP scheme for FTN signaling can obtain 2.50 dB and 0.60 dB performance gain with time packing factor τ = 0.85 and τ = 0.90 at bit error rate (BER) of 10
