An Improved Bounding-box Adaptive Penalty Function Location Method Based on RSSI

Aiming at the problems of low convergence rate and poor positioning accuracy of the heuristic algorithm in RSSI positioning, an improved Bounding-box adaptive penalty function location method is proposed. In this method, the conventionally adopt quadrate communication area of anchor nodes is modified to circular in the Bounding-box algorithm, and their overlapping area is found. Then an adaptive penalty function is constructed to improve the efficiency of individual search in the early stage of optimization by the heuristic algorithm. The coordinates of the nodes can be obtained by minimizing the adaptive penalty function. The simulation results show that the positioning accuracy of the proposed positioning method is significantly improved compared with the traditional RSSI positioning algorithm and the positioning algorithm in literature [9].
