Modeling of Concrete Carbonization Process based on Cellular Automata

Concrete carbonation is one of the important factors affecting the durability of concrete structures. It is of great significance to study the transmission process of CO
2
in concrete. Combined with the principle of cellular automata and the transmission mechanism of CO
2
in concrete, a cellular automata model for simulating the transmission process of CO
2
in concrete is proposed. The reliability of the model is verified by comparing with the experimental results and the calculation results of analytical method. The results show that the simulation results of cellular automata model are in good agreement with the measured values and the calculated results of analytical method, and the maximum deviation is no more than 1%. The concentration of CO
2
in the section decreases with the increase of depth and increases with the increase of service time. The carbonization depth of chamfered area is 1.3 times that of the ordinary area. The proposed model provides a new calculation method for the durability analysis of concrete structures.
