Numerical study of the electric charge measurement by PWP method: Application to the Electrical Double Layer

As soon as a liquid is in contact with a solid, physicochemical reactions occur and lead to the formation of the electrical double layer (EDL). The generation and distribution of those charges remain poorly understood but can cause failure on electrical devices. This paper proposes to calculate the current generated by a pressure wave passing through EDL (PWP method) from propagation equation resolved by FDTD method. Parametric study is carried out to know the influence of each parameter of the electrical double layer on the signal.
