Novel Design of Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) using MEMS Switch

This article introduces a new application for MEMS switch to select phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer suitable for multi-band. The multiband PLL frequency synthesizer uses a switched tuning voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that covers a three-frequency range that can be implemented S-band frequency range allows for accurate and reliable detection and tracking of various types of targets, making it a valuable tool for military and civilian surveillance applications in any (S-Band) RADAR. A key design feature of the multi-band PLL frequency synthesizer is that the VCO tuning are controlled by MEMS switch. The multi-band PLL frequency synthesizer is implemented by ADS software.
