Investigation of the Magnitude of the Electromagnetic Fields in Specific Working Areas of the Electrical Personnel on Vessels with Electric Propulsion

Electrical personnel on ships have to work in narrow spaces, surrounded by various types of electrical equipment operating at different voltages and currents. As a result of the operation of all systems powered by the ship's electrical installation, electromagnetic fields of various frequencies are generated, including those from the radio-communication and navigation equipment. The aim of the paper is to study the EMFs with low frequency (60 Hz) in specific working areas on a passenger ship with electric propulsion drives in order to assess the occupational safety of the electrical personnel on board.
