Analysis of LoRa RSSI Data Using Simulations and Real Devices

To thoroughly investigate the performance of LoRa networks in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT), it is crucial to employ both simulation models and real-world deployments. In order to validate the accuracy of simulation outputs, a comparison between simulated and real data is necessary. This paper compares the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) data obtained from both simulated and real-world LoRa networks. A simulation tool for RSSI in LoRa networks is proposed based on the standard. The comparison of the simulated data with a real-built network with LoRa devices shows the applicability of the proposed simulator.
