Energy Resources as a Factor for Stability in Europe in the 20th Century

The purpose of the report is to prove that in the industrial age the main factor affecting international relations is the issue of energy resources. This is determined by the orientation of heavy metallurgy in developed industrial countries towards replacing fuels. In support of this thesis, fateful events for Europe and the world are traced, at the center of which is the rivalry between the great European powers for hegemony on the continent. Against this background stands out the Franco-German enmity, the escalation of which during and after the First World War led to the permanent USA practice of intervention on the continent and, after the Second World War, to European integration.
