Low-cost Remote Lab on Renewable Energy Sources with a Focus on STEM Education

In the recent years STEM education is becoming an important part of primary and secondary school education. This study presents the development of a remote laboratory in the field of renewable energy sources, aimed for application in secondary schools. The study substantiates the necessity and the applicability of such approach in regards with the current syllabus and regulatory framework. Next, the implementation of the low-cost remote lab is presented and instructions for its application are developed. The study also presents the usage scenarios of the lab for the different physics classes from a regulatory and from a pedagogical perspective.
