Null Forming with Multichannel Receiving SDRs

In this paper, we consider the digital null forming in the radiation pattern of the antenna array connected to software defined radio receivers. Printed folded dipoles with matching circuits are used as receiving and transmitting antennas for conducting the experiments. The nulls in the radiation pattern in the predetermined directions are obtained through the use of complex weighting of the signals. The weight coefficients are calculated using the compensating radiation pattern method. The effect of non-coherent reception on beamforming is studied.
