Band-Pass Filter on Metal Rectangular Diaphragms with an Aperture in the Form of a Step

The paper presents a new design of a waveguide band-pass filter. These filters are based on stepped grooves in the metal diaphragm, which play the role of filter sections. In the course of the work, an electrodynamic analysis and synthesis of a third order filter was carried out. A step on the slit from wall to wall provides transmission resonance within the single-mode band of a rectangular waveguide. The dependences of the amplitude-frequency characteristics of this filter on the geometric dimensions of the stepped groove are revealed. The amplitude-frequency characteristics of the computer model and the manufactured filter are compared.
