Modeling and Experimental Study of the Nonlinear Baseband Pulse Radar Prototype

The results of modeling and experimental study of the nonlinear baseband pulse radar prototype are presented. The sounding signal has a peak power of 1.1 kW and a duration of about 1 ns. To implement the principle of nonlinear baseband pulse testing, the pairs of pulses with opposite polarity were formed by the electrically controlled mechanical switch. In a transceiver antenna system, two helical antennas with a frequency band of 0.4-3.5 GHz were used. As the receiver, an oscilloscope was used. To create the “radar - detectable object” model, a test detectable object was used, in which the induced signal can be recorded. As a result of experimental studies, a nonlinear object with a nonlinear radar cross-section of 0.021 m

was detected at a distance of 3 m. The developed model determines the correspondence between the transmitter power, receiver sensitivity and object detection range.
