Review of 3.3kW Electric Vehicle Charger

The development of electric vehicle technology has made batteries and their charging systems more susceptible to shift (EVs). To maintain and extend battery life, an extremely effective charger must be built. Two components make up the generalized charger: a DC-DC conversion stage with isolation and power factor correction, which is necessary to keep power factor near to unity. This paper compares various power factor correction circuits and dc/dc converter topologies in terms of technology, taking into consideration variables like cost, number of components, utilization power level, efficiency, and control complexity. For the 3.3kW on-board charger, an overview of charger types and selection is studied.
