Dielectric Properties of Green Synthesized Sb:SnO2 Nanoparticles

Green solution combustion method is utilized to synthesize nanoparticles of antimony tin oxide (Sb:SnO
2
) using Terminalia bellirica seeds for sensor applications. The as-prepared Sb: SnO
2
nanoparticles were calcined at 650°C for 2 h. The crystal structure, morphology and optical band gap of Sb: SnO
2
nanoparticles were investigated using XRD, FESEM, HRTEM, UV-Vis and FTIR. According to the XRD results, the calcined Sb: SnO
2
nanoparticles exhibited tetragonal crystalline structure and average crystallite size of 39.78 nm. FESEM and HRTEM images show granular shaped nanoparticles. From UV-Vis spectroscopy, band gap of Sb: SnO
2
nanoparticles was 3.65 eV. The chemical bonding of prepared Sb: SnO
2
nanoparticles were examined by FTIR. The impedance, dielectric properties and conductivity of Sb: SnO
2
nanoparticles were analysed for temperatures ranging from 100 to 350°C using impedance setup.
