Data Acquisition of Iris and ECG for Person Biometric Authentication and Verification

ECG signals related to the electrical activity of the heart have been used to diagnose hearts' health for many years in the realm of medical diagnostics. However, these same signals can now be utilized to identify an individual, making them a biometric attribute. The acquisition of such a crucial signal is possible using both wired and wireless electrode connections. There are already several works being done in these sectors. This is due to the signal from the subject's being universal, unique, permanent, and recordable. Single lead, 3 leads, or even 12 leads might be used to gather the data from the subject. One lead ECG setup can also be used to capture the ECG through the subject's fingertip. However, a variety of noises, including base line drift, powerline interference, high frequency noise, and low frequency noise, will be able to interfere with these signals. Therefore, designing a biometric system that eliminates these disturbances is difficult. This work describes a data collecting system that uses both ECG and IRIS, where IRIS also offers distinctive data about individuals. Iris capture has the additional benefit of being a non-invasive process that employs several approaches to reduce noise. IRIS human authentication offers a quicker method of identifying as well.
