The Influence of Speed Control on Voltage Distribution of Double-Break Vacuum Circuit Breaker

There is an uneven voltage distribution of double-break vacuum circuit breaker, the grading capacitors are often connected in parallel to solve the problem. However, it is found that excessive capacitance will reduce the breaking capacity of the circuit breaker. In order to achieving a better voltage distribution with small grading capacitors, this paper simulated and analyzed the voltage distribution at different breaking speeds, and proposed the control method of the breaking speeds. The synthetic circuit experimental platform with IGBT speed control system was set up. The breaking speeds of two breaks were regulated by speed control system. The voltage distribution experiments under different speed combinations were carried out. The experimental results show that the breaking speed can change the voltage distribution between breaks, and reducing the breaking speed at the later stage of the high voltage break can improve the voltage distribution nonuniformity, which can reduced by up to 15%.The research results provide references for the voltage equalizing design of multi-break vacuum circuit breaker.
