Role of women in sustainable leadership

For many years, women have been leading the way in sustainability, bringing about change and building a more sustainable world for future generations. Women have played a crucial role in promoting economic parity, social justice, and environmental conservation, from grassroots movements to corporate boardrooms. Despite this, women are still underrepresented in positions of leadership in sustainability. According to a 2019 UNEP research, women hold only 10% of board positions in the oil and gas business and only 30% of senior management positions in the renewable energy sector. Women continue to contribute significantly to leadership in sustainability despite these obstacles. They bring distinctive viewpoints, abilities, and experiences to the table, and their leadership is essential to address some of the most urgent sustainability concerns facing the world, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and social injustice. Our research study investigates the role of women in sustainable leadership, the problems they encounter, and the techniques that may be used to support and develop their leadership.
